Maratax Limited was incorporated in 2013 building from a client base started in the 2000s by the founder Robert McKee. We are an independent firm of tax advisors and accountants based in Surrey, with decades of experience supporting individuals, families and businesses. Our independence means we act solely in your best interests, delivering clear, objective advice without outside influence.

Meet the Founder

Robert McKee

Robert has a wealth of experience and has honed his skills from nearly three decades of working in practice and industry, as well as three years with HM Revenue & Customs prior to training and passing CTA whilst in practice. The vast amount of Robert’ experience has come in practice specialising in UK and Offshore Tax, with an emphasis on Trusts, High Net Worth Individuals, Personal Tax, UK company accounting and taxation compliance, bookkeeping and tax advice.

Robert started off his business with a handful of friends in the mid 2000’s, then incorporated his business in 2013 with no aspirations of growing this beyond a small client base. He kept this going smoothly alongside his other roles, however the number of clients grew organically and so Robert decided to focus entirely on his own enterprise and has not looked back since.

Robert prides himself on being very approachable, quick to respond to our client’s needs and being on top of the everyday organisational needs of the company.

Robert has a great working relationship with his clients: ensuring the day to day communications and work is dealt with and completed well, striving to help clients meet their tax needs, providing service that makes their professional and personal life easier.

Robert especially enjoys the client contact and getting to know the ‘person’ as much as getting to know the ‘client’, as this helps with the services provided and to understand their future needs.

Robert is married with two children. Away from the office Robert enjoys long distance running, football and church activities, where he assists in several roles including treasury functions. He has previously served as a parochial church council member, school governor (of children’s primary school), treasurer to athletics club (Fleet & Crookham AC) and manager of his son’s grassroots football team (Mytchett Athletic FC).

We use a standard fee chart as a guide to our initial assessment of the level of fee to charge, we like charge fees on a monthly basis for accountancy, VAT and payroll based work, we always provide an initial quote before conducting our work and will always seek further approval for any further quotes required.

Yes, this is always an option and sometimes helpful, particularly in the early stages of a working relationship. Within an hour’s journey time, we’re happy to meet at your location or at a local site, such as a hotel lounge. Much further away, we often meet somewhere in between.

Most things can be done remotely, which means location certainly isn’t any hindrance to conducting our work efficiently. In the first instance give us a call to see how we can help you.

We like to make sure Maratax is a good fit with your needs. Before we onboard new clients, we offer a free-of-charge initial consultation which usually lasts between 30 minutes and one hour. This can take place over the phone, via video conferencing or face-to-face. We find this time is invaluable in understanding what services are required and how we can best help.
